The blog was originally posted on Notepin.co on Oct. 13th 2025 and has had words slightly tweakied from the original. My views have (probably) changed since then, but i still feel like this might be important.
I also want to note that i now know the definition of oppression, which is discrimination from higher ups (like laws against certain groups). Some of what i said in the blog is more relating to discrimination rather than oppression. I may remake this, but i believe that there is still some truth in this blog, so i may not be taking it down.

This post is based on my opinions, please leave no hate on it, however you can disagree with me. Also i want to note that i (currently) have a poor description on oppression (meaning, idk what oppression is) however i think i understand it enough to talk about it. If i do not have enough understanding, i will go back and edit this post.
For my own understanding, i will be restating what i believe oppression is.
Oppression - A dislike or hatered of something, ususally towards a minority group of individuals, and those who are victims of oppression often have laws against them or freedom is limited towards theirselves. Examples include Transphobia, Sexism, Homophobia, Abelism, Classism, etc.
Oppression regarding the otherkin and alterhuman communities is often compaired to LGBTQ+ oppression, and these two communities are often treated the same. An example is comparing transgender and transspecies in a negative light, saying that being transspecies is just as bad as being transgender, and vice versa.
Alterhumans are often targeted in debaits against transgender individuals and LGBTQ+ in general. They are treated as the punching bag, and as a gotcha moment within debaits. This is also true within the LGBTQ+ community. Alterhumans are often harrassed within the LGBTQ+ community, because they are seen as less than within the lgbtq community and seen as offensive or mocking to some (in a way that we are laughed at for identifying as nonhuman, it feels like a joke to them i believe.)
Oppression often groups individuals who are and arent in the same community, but to those who believe that they are. It doesnt just target one group, but it targets one group PLUS others. And there is evidence of this.
Right winged politics often target us, in fact, on march 12th, 2025, a bill in Texas was suggested by republican politican Stan Gerdes that banned nonhuman behaviours and roleplays within schools to be prohibited. This bill is called the "FURRIES Act," said to target the furry community, however it also targets alterhumans, those who use nonhuman xenogenders, and roleplayers. Thankfully, this bill hasn't passed and has been dismissed.
Another story, while proven false by multiple experts and by the school itself, takes place around December 2021. The rumor of students within a michigan school identifying as cats started by a parent claimed that their school had litter boxes within school. While not a bad thing, as litter boxes within schools are often related to service animals in schools, Conservative and Right winged politicans took this story and ran wild with it. Those who believe in the rumor often tie it towards Transgender Bathroom Rights, Furries, Alterhumans, and gender issues.
Another thing i would like to point out is that Abelism and anti alterhumans also are a common oppression from within the alterhuman, those who are neurodivergent, and other communitites. An example is Clinical Lycanthropy. Clinical Lycanthropes are often demonized and harrassed for their delusions and are often pushed out of alterhuman spaces, aswell as neurodivergent spaces.
Clinical lycanthropy, while not an actual diagnosis, is apart of delusional disorders (Such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Etc) and is considered an alterhuman identity by some. And, we all are aware of the fact that schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and similar neurodivergent disorders is demonized within media and reflects peoples views because, why would these pieces of media be made if it didnt reflect their views on these individuals? This goes back to abelism and anti alterhumans.
